No cab rides or long hikes. You'll be practically next door to 11 Patios, a half block from the Plaza Grande. And a block or two from the Mercado, Plaza Chica, the Basilica and all of the other Historic sites of Pátzcuaro.
Not only are you surrounded by historic sites, you are sleeping in one as well. Built in the 1700's, Casa Encantada is a vital part of what makes Pátzcuaro special.
Full Breakfast every morning
A full breakfast is included, the kind that runs 350–400 pesos anywhere else in town, quietly reducing the price of your room. Coffee, traditional pan dulce, seasonal fruit, fresh juice, and an assortment of Traditional Mexican dishes to choose from. "Affordable luxury" isn't a slogan here. It's basic math.
Victoria Ryan didn't come to Pátzcuaro for a hotel. She came for a *pied-à-terre* , a tiny place to keep while she went on with her life in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Her real estate agent showed her the opposite: a huge, crumbling, overwhelming fixer-upper. The first time she saw it, she hated it. The second time, she said, "Oh, I have to have this place."
With an immense amount of work it became a home, Casa Encantada.
After that, she decided to share it with the world and Hotel Casa Encantada was born.
You're sleeping inside a restored colonial home, not a room built to look like one. Victoria is a working artist — oils for most of her life, then sculpture, and watercolor now. The paintings and sculptures throughout Casa Encantada aren't hotel decor pulled from a catalog. They're hers, or they're from the artists and friends she's collected over thirty years in one of Mexico's most artistic regions. That's the difference here. You're not staying in a property. You're staying in someone's life's work, and you'll feel it.
Each one keeps its colonial bones and its own personality. Fireplaces in some. Art in all of them. See rooms & rates
A Pueblo Mágico built for doing very little, beautifully. See why you came.
